Mike Schiavo joined Fort Point Capital in 2023 as the Chief Financial Officer and Chief Compliance Officer.
Prior to Fort Point, Mike was the CFO/CCO at Prospect Hill Growth Partners, where he was responsible for the financial reporting and operations of the firm. Prior to that, Mike held positions at Thomas H Lee Partners and SV Health Investors. He began his career at KPMG in their audit practice.
Mike holds a BS and MS in accounting from Bentley University and is a Certified Public Accountant.

What are your goals for Fort Point Capital?
My goals align with how we operate as a firm and the experience of our limited partners. I want to ensure that as a smaller firm, we still have the processes, reporting, and technologies in place to operate like the larger PE firms.
What motivated you to choose Fort Point?
The people and the culture. I enjoy being able to work with a group of intelligent and motivated people in a dynamic and entrepreneurial environment.
Describe your role and responsibilities at Fort Point Capital.
As the CFO, I’m responsible for all aspects of accounting, tax, financial management, reporting, compliance, technology, and operations at Fort Point Capital.
How did you become interested in private equity? What drew you to it?
Particularly with lower middle market PE, I’m drawn to the aspect of identifying strong, growing companies, and developing a strategic plan to take them to the next level. I also enjoy the aspects of monitoring the various fund structures and the portfolio of investments, as well as interacting with LPs and other stakeholders.
What do you like best about your job?
Every day is unique and challenging. Being a leaner team, I can wear many hats and be involved in almost all aspects of our firm.
When you're not at the office, what are you usually doing?
Either spending time with my wife or training for and competing in endurance activities. Right now, I am working towards qualifying for and completing all six World Marathon Majors.
