Questions & answers

What motivated you to choose Fort Point?

The people, the people, and the people. Every one of our team members is honest and straightforward. I am highly impressed every day by our team’s pragmatic approach to investing and working alongside management teams.

How does Fort Point approach relationships with portfolio companies?

We are in constant dialogue with our management teams, acting as both sounding boards and advisors where needed. I think we act as very strong partners in helping unlock growth and being an outside voice with a fresh perspective identifying opportunities.

What is the most important part of your job?

Helping our teams sift through piles of data and help piece together thoughtful analyses and investment theses. Better understanding the underlying data story gives us conviction around the vision management has set forth for the business.

Is there one transaction that you worked on that makes you especially proud?

It’s been a joy to work with the Jones Lake Management team as we partner with other entrepreneurs in the lake and pond management space via add-on acquisitions. We are very thoughtful about how to build strategic value in the platform, and are in lock-step with our management team in building the business the right way with the right people.

What do you like best about your job?

When a new investment opportunity comes in the door, you get a crash course in an exciting new opportunity and get to go in-depth on a certain topic or investment theme. It’s exciting and humbling to learn about new companies every day and be inspired by the thousands of entrepreneurs we get to learn about each year.

If you weren't in private equity, what would you be doing?

An Explorer, hopefully on the cover of National Geographic. I’m an avid backpacker and skier, love being outdoors.
