Boston, MA – Fort Point Capital, a buyout firm that acquires nicely growing service oriented companies at the smaller end of the middle market, today announced that David Logan has joined the firm as Operating Partner, effective February 2, 2015.
Mr. Logan has a unique background for this role, having served as an Operating Partner for other private equity funds, a CEO of several lower middle market growth companies, and an executive with several leading global companies. His experience spans a wide range of industries, including business and consumer services, education, transportation and logistics, health care, manufacturing, and entertainment and software. Mr. Logan’s main role will be to generate post-investment value in Fort Point’s portfolio companies.
Prior to joining Fort Point Capital in 2015, Dave was an Operating Partner with the Riverside Company’s Micro-Cap Fund for eight years, where he served as Chairman of multiple portfolio companies. His company OnCourse Learning won the 2014 Private Equity International Award for Operational Excellence, after completing 6 add-on acquisitions in its hold period, leading to an 8X increase in revenue, a 15X increase in profits, and a successful exit.
Prior to Riverside, Dave was Chief Executive Officer of Merit Entertainment, a worldwide leader in touch-screen entertainment devices. At Merit Entertainment he worked with Fort Point Capital Partner, Brooke Ablon, who was Chairman of Merit Entertainment.

Brooke Ablon said: "Dave Logan is one of the best operators and small company advisors I have ever worked with, and we are delighted to welcome him as our first Operating Partner. His substantial operational experience, gained from working with a large number of different companies during his professional career, will support our existing businesses as well as help us pursue future investment opportunities."
