Fort Point Capital, a Boston-based private equity firm focused on investing in service-oriented companies in the lower middle market, has announced the promotions of Michael Duffy from Vice President to Principal and David Sher from Senior Associate to Vice President. Both are responsible for new investment opportunity origination, transaction execution and portfolio company oversight.

Prior to joining Fort Point in 2022, Michael served as a Vice President at MPE Partners, where he was involved in sourcing, executing, and managing private equity investments in middle market, business-to-business companies spanning a range of end markets. Previously, Michael was an Associate at Capstone Partners, a middle market investment bank, and he began his career in corporate finance at Fidelity Investments. Michael received a B.S. in Mathematical Business from Wake Forest University and an M.B.A. from the Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University.
David originally joined Fort Point in 2019, and later re-joined the firm in 2023 after serving as head of operations at a NYC-based technology and logistics startup, and consulting for private-equity backed companies. Prior to Fort Point, David was an Analyst in the Healthcare Group at CIT. David graduated with Honors from Dartmouth College where he received a B.A. in History, a Minor in Ethics, and is a graduate of the Tuck Business Bridge Program at the Tuck School of Business.
