Tom DePoalo joined Fort Point Capital in 2025 as an Assistant Controller.
Prior to Fort Point, Tom was at Standish Management where he focused on fund administration. Previously, he was a Manager at PwC working on tax compliance engagements in the asset management division.
Tom holds a B.S. in Business Administration from Stonehill College and an M.S. in Accounting from Northeastern University and is a Certified Public Accountant.

What motivated you to choose Fort Point?
Fort Point has done a great job in their earlier funds and is in a great position to continue their momentum. I wanted to be able to contribute to that growth and success. Once I met the team and got a feel for the culture, it was an easy decision.
How did you become interested in private equity? What drew you to it?
I began my career in tax compliance working on all different asset management clients. I enjoyed my middle market private equity clients and learning about portfolio companies in different industries. I also enjoy engaging with our LPs and helping them navigate their financial reporting.
When you're not at the office, what are you usually doing?
I like to stay active, whether it’s playing hockey during the winters, golf in the summers, or trying a new workout class. I also enjoy exploring Boston and trying new restaurants with my wife, son, and dog.
